Installed the seals from member roadhazzard Greg, followed the directions to the tee,and was extremely happy with these static results.Ofcourse the real test is a prolong use of them but was very happy with the set up,you dont glue them in,you oil them in.Use stp or engine honey like the the directions say because if you use regular motor oil it will push the excess oil right down to the rtv you have at the floor of the block.I stopped with STP 3/8 before the bottom. This is a very tight snug fit and i went ahead and filled the back of the retainer in with hi-temp and squezzed it in hard right to the retainer seals.Looks bullit proof.

Jason, really is not necessary to fill in the retainer area with sillycone. The seals WILL do the job by themselves.

Looks like you trimmed the top of the side seals off They should be flush when installed and need No Trimming. Are you sure they were fully seated when installed?

Did the retainer and seals install with little effort? Ease of installation was the whole purpose of my redesign

Greg

Very simple i had no problems. The directions stated to leave 1/16 below retainer bottom and when i tapped with mallet(slightly) maybe a touch less than 1/16 was pokin up,i just trimmed the head off.Say thickness of creditcard.I just was trying to keep everything flush because i will rtv my windage tray direct to block. The seals were exact length of retainer so what mute amount ddidnt hit direct bottom definetly got into the rtv at the block.I think it will not only work great but makes the way the maufactuers want you to do it is a joke.I fully believe you on the rear not needing the extra sillycone but even though its r and d for you its me not wanting to have yank the mill either. But fully believe at this point no way is oil going passed your seals as you "Feel" the retainer pushing into the block! Thanks

I can also appreciate not wanting to do the job over
