I had fiber side seals in the retainer but this new setup from felpro came with ..."pipe cleaner" lookin stuff.I read the directions but i wanted the moparts expert opinions on this buisness,i am unsure of this set-up.Is there suppose to be gaskets under the seal retainer?I didnt see any in my kit.

My engines first build i had to dismantle had the fiber strips and was loaded with orange hi temp and had zero seepage. What do i do?I dont have the fiber strips just white(to short) little pipe cleaners.

Thanks for any ideas i am ready to get that done to get the pistons/rods in!!!!!!!!!!

You can buy just the Fel-Pro rear seal kit at a parts store. I'd check that out to see if it has the fiber type strips. I have used the things you are talking about in an old sportscar- not the easiest to slide into place.
On my engine, I bought the viton seals from Hughes. 440Source has them, too. However, I know you need something now.

I have the retainer seals you're looking for.
Just made a design change for easier installation and will send you a set "No Charge" for some feedback

PM me your address if you're interested and they can mail out today

Greg

I like the RTV/pipe cleaner idea, fill the side grooves with RTV, install the retainer, shove the pipe cleaners in to expand the RTV and cut them off flush. I paint some RTV along the block parting seal and the sides of the retainer too.
