No it's not deiseling. It keeps running like you never touched the key. The part that puzzles me is that it continues until you fully remove the key from the tumbler. Yes I have another switch to try , but it doesn't make sense.

Mine does this because I think I inadvertently linked my MSD box to my key buzzer feed.

This just started. The car is a fresh restoration , but I've had it running several times.

You said you have a spare ignition switch? Just plug it in to test, no need to install it..

This make absolutely no sense because the ignition tumbler assembly the key is inserted into is not part of the ignition switch , it's a separate assembly that turns a separate switch .

But (laugh if you like) removing the key does break the key buzzer circuit. Some sort of feedback from that circuit?

It could be a short in the switch on the ignition run side is shorting to ground or shorting to the tumbler it's self. And the key in the switch could be causing a complete circuit then when the key is pulled out then the circuit is broken. Weird!!
