Do show car judges look for it?

You could buy a sheet of material and cut one. I have never seen that reproduced.

I dont really care about judges or the material, I just need something to put back into the recessed area that's heat/fire proof. I can't use the flat gasket material unless I double or triple it up. The original looks to be thicker than a 1/4 inch. Thanks,Guys.

I'm also looking for a good replacement for the air cleaner gasket. It doesn't need to be "correct" just something that works well.

Take a look at this website:
www.mdteam.com

I had the same issue when I redid my air cleaner lid. I found that the 5/16" thick all climate marine and automotive EPDM Rubber weatherseal (part # Black 01025) works well. Its not an exact match to original gasket material, but it seals well and is as close a match as I have been able to find. I found this at Lowes.
