Can't say I've ever seen extruded aluminum fail. bend some, yes, but collapse, no. I have seen many sets of cast aluminum shatter to pieces.

I don't recommend running lowering blocks and CalTracs, especially more than 1 inch. Look at where the bottom of the link will be compared to the edge of the rim if you get a flat tire and imagine it digging into the pavement if that happens and you'll know why. If you need to lower the ride height that much, get new springs.

I`ve heard this many times and that`s what a spare`s for although a drag for a street driven race car. Also heard they don`t work well but know of several p.s.c.a. and other racers deep in the 8`s w/em.

cal tracs do not need lowering blocks!! if u bought them already, just call and tell em u want 2" below stock..it just requires changeing the back portion of the spring!

I don't run the caltrac mono spring.

If I did that would be a simple solution.

Check out www.lugnutking.com He might have something in billet. He's always at the Pomona Swap meet and LB swap meet as well.

He sells lowering blocks? Too funny, I've bought a few sets of lugs off the net from the guy.

I had CalTracs and the split mono's on my Dakota. They wouldn't guarantee the 2" lowered height I wanted because I had a big block in the truck. I ended making a set of 1 7/8" lowering blocks out of 2x3x3/16 wall s/s rectangular tube..Got me right where I needed to be and had no issues running 11.70's with it.

I'm pretty sure I've seen some in his swap booth. He's got great deals on billet wheel spacers too.

Call him, the website isn't very thorough.

i agree --- i was on the phone with them today for at least 15 minutes. Great guys. And for the record--EVERYTHING i was told by Calvert was 100% opposite of what the internet experts/keyboard racers post.

They are TOP notch and I'm glad I chose their product. When I have another worthy Mopar, it WILL have CalTracs under it.
