This weekend, June 3-4 is the Raider ET Challenge at Richmond Dragway. http://richmonddragway.com/ver9/?page_id=185A great payout for the entry fee, and always a good car count. Two days of racing (payout each day). Electronics (Top ET) and footbrake (Mod ET) classes. I will be there!

It was a great weekend of racing at this event. On Saturday the temp varied from 75-90, but the humidity was fairly low for this part of the country (30% during the afternoon). It rained overnight, but they got the track dry in the morning and were racing by 10:45am on Sunday for the second race. It was a good turnout, as expected. I don't have any official car counts, but I am guessing 120 Top ET (electronics) and 90 Mod ET (footbrake, no-electronics), plus a Jr. Dragster class for the kids. Top ET took 9 rounds to finish, and Mod took 8. There were both 1st and 2nd round re-entry, with the winners of the re-entry rounds going into the next round (ie not buying into the next round, a separate re-entry round). I got knocked out in 5th round Saturday, and 6th round Sunday. That was good enough to win $75 Sat, and $200 Sunday. Very tough competition. Even in footbrake you almost always needed a double "O" light to win a round!. In first round Sunday, my opponent had a perfect run.... .000 light and dead-on his dial-in with a zero (6.380 for the 1/8 mile racing) and I ran dead-on my dial-in with a zero also! So I paid $30 to go to the reentry round and started winning until a bad RT in the 6th round with 6 cars remaining. And that round I ran under my dial taking the finish line by 0.016

Some examples/highlights of my rounds in footbrake class from Sunday:
3rd round: 0.0009 finish line, 0.006 RT, dead-on the dial with a 7 4th round: 0.0013 finish line, 0.009 RT, against his 0.014 5th round: 0.0016 finish line, both of us had the same RT, he was dead-on with a 4, I was dead-on with a 3 6th round: 6 cars left, I got switched to right lane and the 60 ft time improved (1.27), took the stripe by 0.016 but ran under my dial-in

The Richmond Dragway web site has the results and standings on their web site:
http://richmonddragway.com/ver9/?page_id=2667
Looking at the standings, I counted 137 Top ET cars the first day and 117 the second. I counted 96 Mod ET cars the first day and 75 the second.
Looks like I am in 5th place in Mod ET after 2 of the 8 race mini-series.
