Got a syringe? you'll be amazed how well it works... I set up a jig that will hold the area of the emblem I'm painting level, pull the color of the hour in the syringe & start painting... You can draw the paint around the cracks & crevices very precisely then float the center field.... I learned this trick touring a factory that makes emblems for vintage cars....

BTW If you can sneak the emblem into the oven @ 140 degrees for 15-20 minutes... Actually a toaster oven in the shop might be the ticket..

I repainted the the rear emblem on a 63 sport fury trunklid and used model paints and a brush. Took a while to tape it, scuff it with a scuff pad, wipe it and paint it. I'd say the syringe would probably work a little better for the hard to reach spots than a brush.

Went to the hobby store and found what I thought to be the best match. Then taped off each color one at a time and sprayed it using an airbrush. You could spray it from the can since model paint has a finer nozzle than full size cans. Then taped of the next color, sprayed it, and finally the third. Instead of trying to tape off the border I just painted it and then used laquer thinner to wipe it off.
