I hope you guys can help me.On my 70 Challenger I have 10.87 inch front brakes been on there since I bought it in 95.The rotors were shot and I had a pair of 11.75 caliper adadpters laying around so I thought it would be a simple swap.Wrong! the bigger adapters rub on the bacside of the new rotors. So I ground a couple thousandths off them see pic

so I install the adapters rotor etc.adjust everything as per service manual. So here is the real problem the new pads will not fit no way no how almost need another quarter inch with the caliper piston bottomed,I even took off the hose and did it on the bench to make sure.So wth?Could I have the incorrect spindles?I was able to track down the previous owner today (no easy feat)he told me the whole setup came from an early seventies fury or polara type car I know A-bodies and the later B-bodies work what about the early Bigger cars.Sorry I don't know the body designation.I have a set of the A body spindles from my Super Bee project would this solve the problem or am I overlooking something simple?

What lead me to think its the spindle is even the 10 inch adapters were rubbing the rotors see pic

Anyone else run into this?Really want to drive my car this weekend!thanks guys

Grab your A body spindles, the C body rotor has a different offset & that's where your running into problems...

Yeah I actually did the opposite, I used 70 E body spindles with 70 C body rotors, calipers & brackets... To get things lined up I had to use a 1/8" spacer between the spindle & the caliper brackets.... But I got the C body 11.75 x 1.125 brakes on the car which most guys say won't work... It's not really a great swap, the rotors aren't available, but I had them so I used them....
