I've bought custom pistons from Ross, about $700 but that was more than 15 years ago. The last set I bought were Wisecos at about $1000. Never had any problems with either of them.

My machinest ordered some custom JE pistons and pins for my last build and they were spot on, delivered in a timely fashion and cost $887.00 through him(I know). No complaints other than the mark up.....

No I did not. I figure if I need an extra one I got more problems than just a piston. Besides they will usually only make them in lots of 4.

One thing I can tell you is ask the price BEFORE ordering. I got a set of 8 Ross custom thick top nitrous pistons for my Slant. This is a Chevy blank to start with, but they charged $40 per piston to move the pin hole down .100" from the stock Slant placement. 8 pistons, rings, and 8 stock Slant wrist pins were $1300.

I buy 4-5 boxes of Aries at a time. There's 10 in a box. They cost right around 700 a box. Brooks rods bought 5 sets at a time cost $600 bucks a set.

I have about a hundred of each right now that are scrap. Was at the scrap yard today and they said they would pay .55 cents a pound for them. That's where they going here soon.

I buy from all of the majors. Diamond and CP seem the most accomodating, but never really had any issue with any of them.

Bought a set of Cp's and 043 rings to go with them a few years back, about a grand, zero problems..

If they are correctly told exactly what a person wants done, most all of them are mighty sharp.

Ross and Diamond I have had good luck with. Rick at CP would do anything to help you also.

I prefer Ron at Diamond the most.
