Our last deal was a hot blooded BBF......staged at 160 - 165 and parked it around 195-200.
I used a tick tock switch ( Shogun industries ) ....a sequential switch that alternated the water pump and fan and it would recover in a very short time..........five minutes max.
This really helped in late rounds when there wasn't a lot of time between passes.
I know new cars run a lot hotter , but I never liked seeing over 200 personally.
And a lot of cars just didn't have much trouble with it.
I know bow tie guys who could run all day and never get over 180 with pretty decent cars........mid 10 stuff.
My Ford just didn't care for it and I did a bunch of things to try and improve it.
A shroud would have really helped too if I would have kept the belt driven fan.
Big aluminum radiator , Moroso electric w.p. drive , 1,600 c.f.m. fan and the tick tock kept it manageable , but it wasn't exactly optimum.
A little hard on the battery , so I had to make sure to charge it when I had time so it would start me in the late rounds.
