I have a question concerning the differences between a piston from a 400 B engine and a 440 BR engine..

I have been doin a bit of research and have noticed that the 400 piston at 4.34 is a bit larger than the 440 piston at 4.32.

My question,
Is the pin location in the same spot between the two??

Do they make a .080 oversized for the 440?

I cannot believe that I can't find a .060 oversized forged piston for a 400 with the stock pin location and 9:1 compression that doesn't cost $800.00!!!

Trying to do a "Budget" build 400 with a 80mm B/W S480 turbo. First engine is a test to see what it will be able to endure..

HEEELP!!

lates stock 440s "smoggers" pistons works on 400s ( of course adding the 020 oversize ) and backwards, but compression height needs to be revised allong with gasket and combustion chamber capacity. They are around 0.100" taller. I think you'll get 0 deck height

But I have serious doubts about 080 440s STOCK KIND piston option are available

Check 424P and 406AP specs... but no one with 080 or 060 respectivelly in existence

KB240s are availabe in .060 oversize ( so the same than .080 to 440s ), but they are around .082 down the hole more than earliers High Compression 440s as I can read. KB240s on a 440 would work like the "smoggers" 440s
