dump the mopar cam. get a comp XE268, and some KB107's set up at 0 deck....

will work fine on pump premium with stock LA heads (will net ~9.5:1 compression) or edelbrocks, or magnum heads (~10.6:1 compression, but tight quench)

although with this setup, you'll be closer to 350-360HP than 300....

stock replacement pistons, a comp XE256 or XE262 (or comparable lunati voodoo), and headers will get you past your 300HP goal on 87 octane.....
