I think it comes down to how much of a "man" are you,.......some guys complain about 2200 lbs!......I've been running a 3400 lb BorgBeck design in my Challenger T/A for the last 15 years,.....someguys can't even squeeze the pedal down on it.....they think I'm ......but I like it because the "hook-up" is awesome......but you have to beef up all the linkage system,....otherwise things start to shear!

My Daytona on the other hand has a Keisler TKO 5spd with a hydualic throwout w/ a 2800 lb Sachs B/B style......the pedal effort is almost non-exsistant.......the hydualic set up is nice, although you lose the "feel" that a "real" pedal gives you!.......I think your focus is best aimed at what your driveline needs are, what are the intended uses of the car,.....there are many set-ups to address any need?......so there's a lot of variables to your question,......everyones gonna have a different opinion on what to run?
