Any tips or trade secrets?

I just got a set back from a polisher and they look real nice. Now I just need to repaint the circle and the blackened areas. I have a couple of questions:

1. What color black did the factory use...it appears to be a flat or satin black

2. Same ? but for the red circle...

3. How did the factory do these? These reliefs are really in there and it looks like I will need to do these very carefully by hand. I am sure a mass produced product from a car factory had a slick process to do these on the quick. Just curious what, if any , process did thy use back then.
