Test wire was the extra wire from msd set installed in #2 on distributor and sparkplug held on the engine block to see if it would spark.

As I noted, engine will start and run while I hold the plug to the block, Note that #2 cylinder has nothing hooked at this point. When I lift the plug i'm holding to the block the engine stalls.

firing is ccw 18436572 checked that many times.



Have you tried a new plug in #2. Sounds like the plug is shorting to ground under load.
