If there is room for two 6V batteries, hook them in series for 12V to run the starter and be charged by the 12V alternator then run the 6V items off of one battery only.

If there is room for only a single 12V battery, find a "tar top" type and tap into the connector bar for the first three cells to power the 6V items.
