I'd use the crane cam. I think the XE274 is going to be a little too big, and will be soft on the bottom, and have some surge issues at part throttle cruise. you'll be fine with V/P clearance. cam duration plays a large part in V/P clearance, as the valve is held open further, longer, as the piston is coming up in the bore.
