~2500 rpm for 20-30 minutes. during mockup clean the lifter bores and lifters w brake kleen and lube them lightly w WD40 and raise each lifter up off it's lobe w your finger and let it go and it should fall back onto the lobe w a resounding "thunk" and if not the lifter bores need honed a bit so the lifter is free to rotate. enough zinc in the oil. Remove the inner coil springs. no thermostat. large shop fan in front of eng. Front of car jacked way up for air pockets. rap the throttle many times during the breakin and read "breakin secrets" at www.mototuneusa.com. One helper to add trans fluid when it starts (several qts before starting). One helper watching above for fuel leaks. One helper underneath watching for leaks. You in the drivers seat to gun it and shout orders. Dist snugged tight enough for another helper to turn it and man the timing light. I like to have it in gear w the rear wheels off the ground on sturdy stands to load the rings. Fill the bowls and check for AP squirt. reluctor blade aligned w the magnet slot w the marks @10BTDC #1 compression which'll fire it at 8 or 9 before. Any leaks cut it off immediately and correct and start over. I like to preoil it w the drill (and if solids adj them) THEN take the rocker assys back off then lube the lifter bottoms/lobes w the goop then install the intake/carb/rocker assys as the adj screw clearances will not change from coming off/on 1 time and I want the cam properly prepped w all the reported failures. Bottom line have all systems prepped for it to light off immediately and (have the throttle screw turned in enough to get close to 2500 rpm.
