A lot of the power issues with the MP hydraulic cams can be traced back to not enough converter, gear, etc. But I'd start by changing the advance curve just a tad. Try swapping the heavy spring for one just like the stock light spring. Set the total mechanical advance at 35 degrees at 3500 rpm, then see where the timing is at idle. If its a bear to start cause its too far advanced back it down to 30 - 32 degrees. Those cams usually need a little more advance curve to wake the motor up.
