right. it said the foam helped to prevent an explosion hazard caused by the fuel vaporizing too fast in the event of a roll over or other crash. the literature said that the fuel could vaporize too quickly, pressurize the tank, and force fuel/fuel vapors out at a high rate and could lead to an explosion


thats probably the only reason I left mine in so far, but...as said...stock tanks don't have foam...
