My thoughts in general on inspection marks, paint daubs, etc. are that if you don't find them, you don't add them.

IF it's ever proven that "all 67 Hemi's got a green paint daub" then fine, easy to add one, IMO it's more correct without it unless you have proof that it belongs there. I am constantly on the hunt for new information as are others in the hobby, the more original and NOS examples we discover and study, the clearer the overall picture becomes. At this point we are still at the beginning of the learning curve on pre 1970 alternators concerning the finer details, alternator details have been ignored for a long time, only recently are they really getting thier day in the sun. So yes, go ahead and get it done in every other known detail, just skip the paint markings for now.
