I know this has probably been asked many times on here before but i think im going to ditch the small block idea and go with a big block so was wondering..what is the best cam to use in a budget build stock 400 ?? Looking for the best bang for the buck thinking a 400 with a Dual Plane intake 750 holley DP headers and a cam...Hoping to put a 4,000 pound car into the 14s...Any tips or engine combos would be great

We took a 400 from a 72 new yorker derby car and
had the Napa machinest clean it up a bit.
We put it back together bone stock with a valve job and
rering kit. We dropped in a Comp cam hyd. .480
lift with around 234 dur at .050 and that 400
screamed in a 72 Dodge 1/2 ton 2 WD with 3.91
posi and 28" BF Goodrich 50's. The motor had a
Torker 383 intake on it with a 750 holly D.P.
Hooker super comp headers from a B body but made
to fit the truck. Then a simple 11" TCI 2400 stall.
IT never made it to the track, but Mustang G.T.'s
or any Firebird/ Camero from around 1994 was lunch
for the Dodge.

Snap your neck, mega G-force launch, is all I want!
