Look your car over carefully before leaving. Is everything safe and ready for the tech guys to look at?

When you get there, tell the staff this is your first time. They might figure it out anyway, so it's better to get them on your side. Listen to what they say.

Check out the turnoff and return road if at all possible. It's better to know what is coming after the rush. Note where the finish line is.

Bring a friend. You will want pictures and someone to share the experience. Someone who has already done this is better.

Plan ahead for stuff. Are you going to bring extra parts, tools or tires? Where are you going to leave them after you take them out of the trunk? Do you need a helmet? What else?

Unless it's a madhouse and you have to get into line fast, watch a few runs. Note that people wait until both cars are prestaged before staging. Note that you don't rev up your motor until ready. No burnouts across the line. notice where the line really is. Many newbies stage with the back tires. Most racers will be glad to help another person get the sickness, ask questions.
