That, and a typical .500 or so lift el cheapo camshaft, and you'll have found the easy way to get enough HP to get into the 12s.

The hard(er) way is to take whatever iron heads, open or closed chamber, valve job/guides/etc, spend about 3/4 of what the aluminum heads would have cost, and it'll end up with less power but probably still enough to meet your goal.

Your truck is an ideal candidate for a MP .528 solid lifter cam (or something similar with wide lobe separation), performer rpm or equivalent MP intake, and any of the aluminum heads above, though. That way you'll have an adjustable valvetrain on hand and when the inevitable urge strikes to go faster.....then you can do a shortblock with more compression/bigger cam and springs, and you'll be in the 11s.
