There is a fellow on here that go's by the screen name 40ford, he had a good post on Mopar Chat web site under the name Sanborn, very good read and I followed his suggestion's religiously and I have not had a issue,,,is it aboslutly necessary? as Lonnie said no it's not, but I did mine cause I wanted to.
