Point is EH is a surface preparation. It does nothing in the way of "hogging out". Little of the parent metal is removed. And after a short time of run in, the manifold gets a coating of surface rust and carbon buildup, so any gains in surface prep quickly vanish. Then add to that fact that you still need to run it through a stcck type 2.5" exhaust system. Better than nothing. perhaps, but don't expect much.,,,
Well said (and nice work BTW ). Everyone I've talked to said the exact same thing. Of course I'm doing a Pure Stock build so it isn't allowed anyway.
There are relatively HUGE differences in the rest of the exhaust system, though. The difference between the factory 2 1/4 compression bent pipes vs. a high quality 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent system is huge compared to extrude honing the manifolds. Then there are the mufflers............
