i work in a VW bodyshop.
AVOID the Tiguan.
they are nice driving cars with good power a LOT of them are 4motion AWD. it should have a 2.0 turbo power. they are also tanks. it's probably one of the safest cars made in that era.
these motors last to about 120-150K miles then plan on going thru the motor. GOOD used motors are tough to find also. reman motors are $$$ and sell as fast as they build them for this reason.
the trans isn't cheap either.
parts to repair are easily found but $$$$$.
