Just so sad for the hobby these days, when you have to search for NOS for such common wear items.


I'd prefer to find a good NEW part versus relying on the intergrity of 30/40/50 yr old rubber ... but that's me. We can thank the EPA for the garbage we have to live with now.

I put Moog lower bushings in my 69 GTS that only had 56k miles on it in 2006 , the next spring when I looked under the car i could see that the rubber was already starting to check on the outside. I can only imagine what they look like now with the car being in hibernation since then ...


Some of those older rubber parts I'd trust to "most" of the offshore crap these days.
I've seen 50 year old wiring that's in excellent condition. Depends on the specific materials used back then.
Old glass weatherstripping that's just fine.
Like most things today manufacturers fiddle with ingredients to cut costs, less so then in the past.
In past it was about Quality, today it's about Cost. PERIOD !!
