Haven't walked in your shoes, but I would think for a few hundred dollars the peace of mind alone would be worth it to not "save a few hundred dollars. Good idea? Bad idea? Thoughts" and a good idea to spend it.
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.
