I was a service writer at a couple of Ford dealers in the 1980's and remember the 'Warranty Time' vs Customer Paid Labor (CPL). There was a thick loose-leaf book full of labor codes and we had to complete each repair order by hand. Things sure got better with computers!

I've been out of the auto industry a long time and am just a civilian these days. Kind of frustrating now that I'm on the other side of the counter.
