I've had the same bolt-sleeve 5/8" studs in my Strange axles over 35 years and no problems. Grantid, my car is just a stock eliminator car but I've never had any problems. Keep the nuts torqued tight and you shouldn't have any problems, after all there's quite the difference between 1/2" and 5/8" in strength.
