How I choose one is to go to Summit and buy a NEW BILLET wheel , my feet are worth more than the savings of use an OLD heat checked cracked cast steel flywheel, especially if you aren't running a blowsheild.
I agree. By the time you pay a machine shop to resurface your old one, you aren't that far away from a good steel replacement.
Your old stock one
might be just fine until one day in the heat of the moment, you decide to race someone and dump the clutch at higher revs. Then it's off to the rehab hospital for some new feet.
Personally I won't run anything but a stock engine without a scattershield.
