I used two guys on the board here for work and parts that I did not have. I think the total bill was a little over $1000. It was a 73 motor and crank with a converted variable switch. It was a c body switch converted over to fit an ebody. Finding a 380 switch is more expensive and you can’t read the part number once installed anyway. NS1AAR and Devinism can help you out.

Not 100% correct. The wiring is the same for any 3 speed harness.
It's the plastic spade ends that can be changed to use either switch.
The later year just used a single plastic holder.

a 72-74 switch has simalar terminals as a 70-71 switch and will plug right in. There are two connectors that go on the switch on the 70-71. If you only connect the bigger plug you will get 1 speed and park out of the 72-74 switch but if you try to connect the other 2 wire plug it will smoke the wiring.

The switch in my hand is a 70-71 correct 380 switch the other is a factory E-body 72-74 3-speed.

The motors operate the same for either years. Thus the wiring is the same. You just have to rearrange the wiring onto the plastic connectors to make it happen.
