I agree on leaving the car as original as possible, for as long as possible.
I have a similar deal with my '69 RR: a little wear & tear, but a near-completely original 17,000-mile car.
As for the rarity of red/red (though I call that red/burgundy), that color interior is not common, and I've seen VERY few all-red RRs.

I didn't know (or recall) - if I'm reading that right - that Inland shifter cars did not get the Reverse warning light.
