Taking it apart and reassembling it is the easy part. Knowing what to look for as far as wear patterns and all that is what worries me.
^^^ This is what I'm going through now (short story) had a transmission that lost reverse at the end of last year, and when came time to tear it down i notice one of the planetary's outer gear had some uneven wear on it. Replace it with a steel planet from Cope ......we shall see how it goes
