I've ordered the joint/bone supplement my dog is on from the same place for nearly 8 years. For all hose years it has come USPS, but the last order came FEDEX. Now I know why. IMO, with the competition in the shipping market, the USPS should scale back to delivering letters and small packages, and let the others handle the bigger stuff.
