There's a conspiracy theory in there somewhere !! Do you put your money in a bank or is it all in your mattress? Your data is actually probably safer in "the cloud" than in IRS servers !!

Hackers. If it's only at the IRS server, that's the ONLY other place it should be that is connected to the internet. No third party maintaining data somewhere. It's called basic security of information.

Are there plenty of places to hack info sure, why make it any easier in more locations than absolutely required. Isn't due to conspiracy theories at all.

How do you sleep wearing that tinfoil hat ?

Why the insults that others feel that the cloud isn't the location they want sensitive data stored? Same as I don't walk around with a shirt on that has my birth date, SSN, mom's maiden name, etc on it. The more locations that info is in the public domain, the greater the chance you have to become a victim. Even if someone says, info is secure, reality is, it is never secure outside your control.

I trust nobody with the safety of my personal information. Cr@p happens

Carry on.
