Now I'm dealing with this new floor shifter and cable. My car was a column shift and now I can't figure out exactly how to route and mount the cable at the transmission. I purchased the shifter second hand and I'm not sure of the brackets I received for installation. As best I can figure, It comes through the floor straight forward so I'm going to kinda wrap it around the starter area keeping it close to the block and away from the headder. I'll use the upper starter bolt and fab a retainer bracket to keep it secure. The two bosses on the drivers side transmission bell housing are unused now and I'm going to put them in play to fab a bracket to hold the new shift cable. I'm thinking of making a second cable attachment point for throttle pressure/kick down cable just in case I run into issues using the oem style kick down linkages. up I have seen some brackets that mount to the pan bolts, I'm not totally against using that mounting point. We'll see how it goes. drive
