Looks like an older intake where they were cast a bit different then they are today.

I collect old semi rare intakes and here is an example where there was a thin spot and they welded it.


So if someone can get a bead to take in the runner like this id suspect yours can be welded as well.

I myself am trying to figure a good way to "seal" the pores on this intake, to keep the org. look but use on a day 2 build.

Ive seen these type repaired all my life, id get it welded if I could.
