I am cleaning up an older Weiand 7545 X-celerator single plane intake tonight and right after the first coat of paint I noticed a hole in the side of the intake. It is on the outside a couple of inches below the carb mounting flange, and just below the runner. A light from the inside of the intake does not shine through to the outside hole. So I would like to plug up the hole and finish cleaning the intake. But can I use JB weld and push it into the hole or should I use some sealant to plug it up? Then when I am done cleaning out all of the mounting holes I was just going to put another coat of paint and then keep it.

Note: The hole is about the diameter of a #2 pencil lead for reference and about 1/8" deep.

What do you think?
Thanks
