i recently bought a pulsetechXtreme charger, and it seems to work ok, compared to my ancient [1972] model shumacher.
it was $60.00 on the bag.

It would be quite challenging to design a comparison test between two desulphating lead acid battery chargers.

Perhaps you could collect a large number of
used 7 amp hour sealed lead acid batteries,
randomly divide them in two,
then compare how the two chargers do “on average” on their half of the batteries.

You would have to decide how long to charge each battery

You would have to find a characteristic to test:
amp hours of capacity at some chosen value like a quarter amp
or
peak discharge voltage down to 10 volts (like starter batteries)

Seems real challenging to me

Volunteering to charge up old golf cart batteries, again randomly, then see how far a golf cart can go, is an alternative,
but here the “weakest link” comes into play as there are so many batteries in series.

Relatively cheap digital devices that record multi values like volts/amp hrs/watts
exist in the Radio Controlled vehicle hobby.
