hmmm thought that would do it.. ok did you use a SOFT carb base gasket on it?.. if not you may have a vacuum leak there...but now you must ck the plugs first..and the wires.. good luck
It has a metal adapter with regular carb gaskets top/bottom. I did spray starting fluid all around the base of the carb with no indication of a vacuum leak.
