Gear vendors is just an overdrive, 8 individual gears is way better! Can you supply more info on this? Who and do you have a link to control the 8 speeds? Not up on the bell housing bolt patterns but will it bolt up to magnum/LA without a adapter? Same for the flywheel/flex plate? I seen a post somewhere where they used a 727(or another trans don't remember) with a magnum motor and fabbed up their own mount that was welded to the bell housing.
The ZF 8 speed is as big an advancement as overdrive was over 3 speeds. IIRC, the late hemi's use the old small block trans pattern, so bolting it up should be the easy part.
