I think it's a great idea to add a little food coloring to the water if you are going to separate the ethanol from the fuel. I am quite fortunate in that I have 3 gas stations nearby that sell the rec fuel. I run nothing but the ethanol-free fuel in all my power equipment, my Merc-powered bass boat, & my 2016 Scat Pack Challenger. About 6 years ago (before I started using the rec fuel), my boat engine would barely start & run the first time each season. Now I see why. I also used to have major issues with my push lawnmower to the point I had to take it to a small engine repair shop for them to go through the carb to get it running one year.
