My ex-girlfriend had an Ecobee in her place, and the house I just bought has a Nest in it. The Nest looks far nicer and is beefier. I liked the Ecobee function and app a little better though.

As Andy mentioned, for what you're doing a normal programmable one would be fine without actually needing the wifi capability.
