TREMEC® 5 and 6-speeds dominate the aftermarket as the premiere choice for strong, reliable and versatile transmissions. The Silver Sport Transmissions (SST) PerfectFit™ kit helped take the 5 and 6-speeds customization options to the next level, multiplying the two to three available shifter positions to well over 25 shifter positions and providing all the needed conversion components, cutting templates, sheet metal and instructions to help convert classic cars, trucks, 4WDs, and select imports into optimized, modern drivetrains. TREMEC’s latest 5-speed, the TKX, is a great option for classic car enthusiasts who need a compact, high-power capacity transmission.

The TKX’s rounded, compact case will eliminate cutting in most applications and minimize it in others. The bolt-in dimensions of the TKX are very similar to the TKO and 3550; the new TKX retains the same length, face to crossmember mount, and bellhousing mount dimensions. SST’s STX Shifters® and case modifications put the shifter exactly where it should be.

The multi-cone synchronizer design comes standard with carbon hybrid blocker rings and helps the TKX achieve an 7,500 rpm shift capacity. The TKX is strong with a 600 lb•ft torque rating in both gear sets.
