I am in favor of using something to prelube a race engine to begin the day, whether it has been sitting for a day or a month. Either an electric pump, mechanical pump that can be spun with a drill motor, or an accusump. Spinning the engine with the starter to get pressure kind of defeats the reason for doing it.

I prefer the accusump with an electric valve because it can also be used to protect the engine should the oil get away from the pickup due to g-forces on accel or deccel
