The electric unit uses the oil in the pan - that's why it needs a motor. So you're not carrying around a big bulky reservoir with an extra 3 quarts or so of oil in it. I suspect that an accusump with solenoid, etc will be about the same price as the electric system.- but takes up WAY more space and weighs a lot more.



I understand the differences. My point was that both approaches would do the same job of pre-luber if properly set up. Each with it's own pluses and minuses. I guess there could be applications where every square inch and every once is more important than 3 extra quarts of oil capacity. Frankly, I wasn't aware of that.
