Well, the drum I have is about .030" larger than the hub register. Feel way too sloppy to work. I'm wondering why the original drums can't be used with the new, unswedged studs? Was the idea of using the later drums just because they were cheaper, and there was nothing wrong with using the originals with the new wheel studs if the drum is still good?
You're better off using the original drums since they will register properly on the hub, you may have to adjust the lug hole sizes depending on the diameter of the protruding shoulder on the lug stud. The later drums with the larger pilot hole could be used if the lugs are swedged and the off-center drums turned to make them true.
