So I take it your shifter is a bayonet type unit and the shift lever is a bolt on stick. You can install a bolt on stick receiver in your current shifter housing or I have seen sticks modified to fit a bayonet type receiver. I think the bolt ion deal is a much better choice and you also freshen it up when you swap in the new parts
